In 1988, Webber joined Framestore, a leading British visual effects company. Throughout his career, he played a pivotal role in advancing digital film and television technologies. His leadership at Framestore included the development of virtual camera and motion rig systems. Notable projects under his visual effects supervision include Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight (2008), James Cameron's Avatar (2009), and Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity (2013), which earned Webber an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.
Webber's contributions to Gravity were not only groundbreaking but also earned him prestigious accolades. He secured the BAFTA Award for Best Special Visual Effects at the 67th British Academy Film Awards and the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects at the 86th Academy Awards.
In recognition of his significant contributions to the field, Webber was honored with the Royal Photographic Society Progress medal and Honorary Fellowship in 2014.
